Anti Potters House protest turns nasty

This weekend saw a citywide Protest launched against the Potters House christian fellowship which resulted this morning in a chase through the streets around the fellowship church in Walthamstow, East London.

Two people were confronted, threatened and chased through the streets and one gave himself up in the dramatic scenes before their main sunday morning service.

I have just recieved phone contact from the protesters who have shared with me the details of what transpired less than three hours ago. The pair had put up many placards on lamposts in the streets surrounding the church and were leafleting parked cars in the area as people were in side the church. One of the couple was confronted by Walthamstow pastor Nigel Brown in his car. Brown pulled up along side
him and screamed out 'NO WONDER YOU'VE GOT YOUR FACE COVERED YOU LITTLE PSYCHO!!' As the two men made their getaway another car raced up and swerved across the road to cut them off, stopping dramatically as assistant pastor Jimmy Robinson jumped out and made a grab for one of them. A number of ushers pursued the other protester as the two
ran off in different directions. The second protester gave himself up in a nearby street and was grabbed and forcibly restrained. The ushers took the placards he was carrying and his leaflets before letting him go.

The protesters were boldly handing out flyers to people as they were walking on their way to the church, however they said they were caught by surprise at the level of aggression used to stop them.

One of the ushers who was driving a car was seen with a pile of placards during the time the second protester was being released. It is believed that he had already gone round trying to pull as many down as he could find. The first protester was slightly injured in a
fall as he fled the pursuing members of the Potters House church.

The nature of the protest comes on the back of a series of reports on the website www.habakkuk2-4.com which revealed that Pastor Nigel Brown had awarded himself a pay rise of over 50% in one year and had refused to reveal the full extent of his remuneration on the annual report to the charities commission. Brown, as well as having a wage of around £37,000 a year has his house and bills paid for by the church as well and on top of that he is suspected of getting a 'bonus' which is estimated to be in the region of £50,000 annualy
which would take his total yearly remuneration over the £100,000 mark. The posters stated the following....

This came with a facial photograph of the Aussie/English preacher below it and the website address at the bottom. Brown was visibly agitated and was seen driving slowly through the streets trying to
find the culprit before pulling up beside one of them and yelling at him.
