An abusive pastor of the Potters House christian fellowship church
in Albany has been arrested and taken to Benton County Jail after the minister
allegedly carried out a violent beating of his 13 year old son with a length
of wood..
David Lee Fink, aged 47 who is a pastor of a Potters House church in Albany is alleged to have beaten his son using a 16 inch long weapon wrapped in duct tape. The minister was accused of beating the child repeatedly over the buttocks, thighs and arm which in all likelihood would have caused significant bruising and injury.
Fink was charged by local police with second degree assault and first degree criminal mistreatment after lashing out violently against the boy one monday afternoon. Later on the pugnacious pastor went on his way to the Potters House church in 2nd avenue and main st. where police arrested him at approximatly 4:50p.m after being informed of his whereabouts by a family member. Authorities have set bail at $55,000. Fink was due to appear before the Benton circuit court at 1:20p.m the following day.
The Potters House have long courted controversy over it's views on child discipline. Views with have caused concern among, not only the liberal left but some congregants of the fellowship itself. Walthamstow minister Jimmy Robinson was once seen violently beating his four year old son with enough force to throw him into the air after the boy tried to get his attention as he was talking to friends at a conference. Another minister hit the headlines for torturring a small girl by holding her hands in a bucket of blood which he said was to teach her a healthy fear of hell. This seems to be just the latest in a long line of cases of child abuse under the pretext of child discipline.
