IMAGINE the scene. Thousands of shoppers in a middle England town are going about their lawful business on a saturday lunchtime. A group of pentecostal singers are performing. Suddenly a man appears out of nowhere and produces an automatic weapon. Before anyone can react the man opens fire on the worshippers and within two seconds all have hit the ground seemingly mown down in a hail of bullets. As terrified onlookers stood rooted to the spot in sheer terror a man jumps up from the crowd and begins to yell at the startled public. This is the way toi get peoples attention South London style. Forget the fact that someone could have called the police. Ignore the fact that someone could have had a heart attack. In the minds of these fellowshippers anything you do that gets peoples attention so that you can preach to them is justified. This is a case of the ends justifying the means taken to an extreme. People in the church will actually laugh at the effect they have. Can you imagine Jesus pulling a stunt like this?
