MITCHELL CRUCIFIES FORMER PASTOR GREG JOHNSON IN SCATHING
SERMON OUTBURST - 21ST OCTOBER 2006

Wayman
Mitchell, the man who has developed an unenviable record for stabbing former
pastors in the back was at it again in a Prescott sermon and this time the
victim was none other than one of his most famous disciples in the histoiry
of the fellowship, Greg Johnson.
Mitchell's outburst even astonished hardened congregants in the Arizona church as the C.F.M head reacted angrily to news that Johnson was about to affiliate himself with Foursquare Gospel Church. Mitchell led his organisation in an acrimonious split from Foursquare over 20 years ago. Mitchell laid into his former denomination with spite and venom as listeners sat transfixed and also laid into a recent departee from the fellowship Jason Scarey. This proved to be unpopular even in a chruch which is noted for it's hatred and venom for those who leave. Scarey was popular and well liked in the church and Mitchell's verbal knifing of him did not go down well.
Johnson, who along with Foursquare bore the brunt of Mitchell's anger, left the fellowship in 2001 resigning his pastorate of one of the largest churches in the fellowship and is currently building another church from scratch. He's doing well with around 100 people attending in about two years of it's opening. They are currently considering purchasing their own property. This news clearly irked Mitrchell who has many convinced that all who leave his fellowship are cursed and doomed to failure. Johnson is a living testimony to the impotence of Mitchell's curses.
This is the latest in a long line of vicious outbursts against all who split from Wayman's organisation. He railed against those who left in 1990 and his much to split their churches. In a 2002 conference in the U.K he told the congregation that even shaking hands with such people could result in God killing you with them in the process.
Johnson's apparent sucess and his new found friends in Foursquare has clearly rattled Mitchell who has never forgiven Foursquare since his split form them in the early eighties. He is obviously a very angry and embittered old man.
