C.F.M'S ANTI CROSS CRUSADE -
17 TH OCTOBER 2006
Source from http://www.habakkuk2-4.com/5.html
The
cross is the predominant symbol of christianity yet it is coming under attack
from the church that hails itself as the greatest move of God in the earth
today.
In one church I know of, the pastor points out that there are no crosses in this church and declares that those who display the cross are guilty of IDOLATRY! THIS CLAIM HAS BEEN ECHOED BY MANY OTHER PASTORS IN THE FELLOWSHIP. I have several reports of people who are christians and wear a cross round their neck and claim they were ordered to remove it. One young man was told by Evangelist Ernie Toppin that he had to remove a cross and was told to get rid of it. When he later regretted doing so, he got himsefl another one. Toppin got angry and ordered him to remove that one and throw it away as well.
One local protestant evangelical church put up a metre high cross at the top of their building that lit up at night. The local fellowship pastor criticised this and one disciple described it as a 'spirit of error' and 'compromise' and questioned what spirit the church was of. Furthermore some fellowshippers when walking past the church would pray and try to bind the spirit behind the cross. No word of a lie! they would bind it "IN JESUS NAME!"
Some claim that the reason you have sickness is because you are wearing a cross AND BECAUSE OF THAT YOU ARE CURSED. Others claim that all christians who wear crosses are guilty of idolatry. The idea came from an old Roman Catholic idea that wearing a cross or marking yourself with the sign of the cross protected you from evil and so radical elements in the fellowship have declared war on the cross whereever they see it. There have been numerous documented cases of people who are christians who have been disparaged and judged as 'lukewarm' or 'flakes' or 'off the wall' simply for no other reason than they are a cross wearing christian. It seems to escape this organisation's attention that most christians who wear a cross do not worship it or look to it for magical protection. It is simply a symbol of their faith.
Pastor Linford Henry of Wembley, London mocked to scorn a woman who bought a necklace with a cross on it because it didn't have Jesus hanging from it. Another minister, Eric Roberts, ridiculed cross wearers and said that if Jesus was killed by a machete would you wear a machete around your neck? Some in the fellowship for this very reason described cross wearing christians as 'stupid' or 'sick'.
So that's just another example of what life in a C.F.M church does to some people's attitudes. Religious elitism, condemnation, judgementalism and skewed logic. That's life in the Potter's House. The greatest move of God in the earth today? I'll leave you to decide.
