Janet Taylor lives with developmental dyspraxia and has had 8 years experience of raising awareness of dyspraxia and related Neurodiversity She is well known and respected in the Neurodiversity and disability movement.
She set up a self help group for adults with dyspraxia on a voluntary basis after experiencing discrimination in the work place and has now become a freelance consultant in dyspraxia and related specific learning differences.
She was awarded a Millennium Award in 2002 to facilitate a very successful conference ‘Dyspraxia In Adulthood’ on 24th June 2002 in Manchester which was well attended by a diverse group of 80 professionals and members of the public.
She is currently writing her autobiographical novel, ‘A Nice Girl but just not Suitable- a Dyspraxia Journey into Adulthood’.
She was a part time lecturer and student at the University of Bolton and student lecturer at Manchester University Community and Youth Work department after being a student on the Diploma in Community and Youth Work.
She is now working part time as a Travel Training Project Co-ordinator at Bolton Association Network of Drop- ins on a pilot project for people with mental health issues
For the past 8 years on a voluntary basis is the founder and co-ordinator of Greater Manchester Dyspraxia Adult Action
